Knitted Pirate

When I found out I was pregnant with a second child I decided to make something for my son to give him when his sibling arrived hence I spent a lot of the next few months knitting a pirate.I found the design in Annette Hefford's 'Knitted pirates, princesses, witches, wizards and faeries'. It was a challenge due to that the most complicated knitting I had attempted before this was increasing and decreasing stitches. There was at least one heated phone call to my mum as she tried to explain to me without being able to see what I had done, how to do a particular knitting maneuver. Anyway here is the finished product.

One very hairy pirate

My son likes his pirate but laments the fact that I have not yet finished his sword due to a lack of the correct size and type of needles. Also time as he now has a sister.
